This project was designed to suite the needs of a developer that our studio was partnered with in order to design a high end low income housing project in an area of Miami that is currently undergoing gentrification. Because of the history and importance of the shipping railroad to this city I used the modularity and structural dimensions of the cargo containers. This allowed for a functional internal courtyard building with ample communal space as well as streamlined circulation. The dimensions of a cargo container allowed me to design double wide units with one container bay being a loaded core and one for circulation, this functionality was able to be transferred from studio units all the way to the two bedroom design.
